One of the standout performances in the show comes from the incomparable Craig Revel Horwood, who brings the character of Miss Hannigan to life with a perfect blend of hilarity and haunting charm. His portrayal of the horridly hilarious and heinously delightful Miss Hannigan is simply unforgettable. Revel Horwood's perfect comedic timing and larger-than-life presence make the character truly come alive on stage, leaving you unable to resist falling in love with her despite her mischievously evil ways.
Amidst the laughter and toe-tapping musical numbers, Annie the musical also touches upon deeper emotions, reminding us of the power of dreams and the strength of optimism. The journey of the characters and their pursuit of a better tomorrow trigger a huge range of emotions that tug at the heartstrings. Annie, portrayed by the insanely talented Zoe Akinyosade, was an absolute delight to witness on stage. Without exaggeration, her breathtaking vocals reached sublime heights. Zoe truly brought the character of Annie to life in the most captivating way. Her performance underlined her undeniable talent and dedication, leaving the audience in awe of her remarkable abilities.
The performance that truly stole the show the most was Paul French, who portrayed the cunning character of Rooster, Miss Hannigan's devious yet charming brother. Every moment he graced the stage, his energy commanded our undivided attention in the most captivating way imaginable. Paul French's portrayal of this charismatic yet psychotic villain was an absolute favourite for us, leaving an unforgettable mark on the entire performance.
In addition to the outstanding performances by the lead cast, the supporting actors and ensemble were also just as incredible. Bringing an incredible energy and enthusiasm to the stage, and therefore creating a vibrant and immersive experience for the audience. The talent and dedication of the entire cast are evident in every scene, enhancing the overall quality of the production and further increasing our enjoyment of the show.
Annie the musical is not just a treat for the young; it's a show that truly resonates with audiences of all ages.
